Bittersweet Farm

Kristy Benson is the market manager of the Higganum Farmers Market and is the owner and operator of Bittersweet Farm, which hails from Higganum, CT.  The farm grows around 40 kinds of 'Certified Naturally Grown' herbs and a wide variety of vegetables. From those herbs, the farm makes herbal, medicinal teas, beverage teas, DIY Elderberry syrup kits, and stovetop simmers.

Bogue Farms

Vegetables,  Christmas trees, wreaths, shrubs, trees, perennials, annuals, topsoil

The list of produce they bring to the market is a mile long and ranges from root veggies to corn, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and more! In the fall, look for pumpkins and corn stalks. The other half of the Bogue family produces area-famous jams, jellies, and pickles.

Cold Goats Farm

Cold Goats Farm is dedicated to producing top quality yarns and roving for knitters, spinners, and fiber artisans.  The farm's angora goats produce the mohair that is blended with hand-selected sheep fleeces from local farms.  All the animals that are sheared have the best love and care and come from small family-owned herds.

Foxglove Soap Company is a local business specializing in handcrafted artisan soap and hand-poured soy candles.

Bread from United Congregational Church of Haddam & Higganum

Their bread ministry, Bread for Heat, raises money for the Haddam fuel bank, and every year they donate thousands of dollars. Very popular and sells out super quick!!

The BakeUp Artist is a family run cottage bakery out of Killingworth that specializes in sweet treats of all kinds. Cookies, breads, pastries... using local, fresh ingredients that change with the seasons.
